    US Airways - BOS

BOS is strictly an A320 base, but it does more than just Shuttle flying. No 757 base there; the only 757/767 bases are PHL (Intl.) and CLT (domestic).

    DELTA fact or fiction.

Of the RJs that are departing in '08, 15 are Chautauqua 135s. It was agreed to remove the short busses from service when the CHQ/DL contract was reaffirmed in bankruptcy.

ALL Flying will performed by AA pilots

And to think I slogged through 11 pages of this thinking there might be some AA information in an AA thread. Instead we're all fighting old fights over again. It is what it is, and if this is the environment we're working with, then the whole damn industry is hopeless. The past is the past...

Who gets what out of training at NWA?

I haven't seen official "class drops" per se, but so far everyone has gotten DC-9 FO (DTW & MEM) or 747 SO ANC. Seems very likely that A320 FO (DTW/MEM again) will be going to new hires soon from what I've heard. At least a brief wait in DTW or MEM for those wanting MSP on these airframes.

DAL Dec 3rd Class Aircraft Assignments...

The CHQ contract was affirmed in bankruptcy, though amended to remove the EMB-135s (15 aircraft) from Delta service. The remaining CHQ aircraft (22 EMB-145s) are under long-term contract with no known plans to reduce or eliminate. The Shuttle America DCI service will remain constant at 16...

    NWA Position Update

This theory that the legacies are avoiding "eating their young" (i.e. hiring from their own regional affiliates) is happening big-time and I'm surprised more hasn't been said about it. At CHQ, we are losing more people to NWA than anywhere else ... BY FAR ... right now. And they're the only...

How does NWA do seniority within class? Age? SSN?

    CHQ vs. Comair

If you're in my class and older than me at CHQ, then go to Comair ... if you're younger than me or in a later class, come to CHQ and move me up one more number!! Kidding, of course. Comair's payscales are higher but you'll more than make up the difference in upgrade time ... lots of growth...

    "Hard landings"

I've been saying exactly that ever since I first read the book in 1998. Personally, I re-read it once a year just to refresh myself on what I might have forgotten recently! R

    DAL or RBD ?

Go to Regal DAL, they'll take good care of you. We did the trip a year and a half ago in the King Air and it worked out well for us. Regal also has no ramp or parking fees which will help make up for any difference in fuel. I'd call places rather than trusting airnav's fuel price. DAL is...

    Boycott Nwa

I saw this on March 1st on an NWA flight. Faxed it to NBAA and AOPA the next day. Have since been contacted by both and assured they're taking steps to fight this one. Anderson is factually inaccurate in certain areas. PFCs pay for terminal facility improvements ... my corporate passengers...

    United 737s

Could be what those OMA guys see on flight tracking is "B73B" rather than "B738". I've seen various designators for the 737s in ATC computers, one of which divided them as B73A (100/200), B73B (300/400/500), and B73C (600/700/800/900). After a couple of adult beverages under the concourse on a...

    Kingair Training

I have done BE-200 training at both Simcom and Simuflite and have been pleased with both. All of my instructors at both places have had substantial experience in the actual aircraft. Simcom is cheaper, has small classes (max 2 folks), and you'll have the same instructor throughout ground and...

Looking for old XJT friends ...

I'm trying to track down some friends from XJT I've lost touch with. If anybody knows these guys and can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. Shoot me a PM. Looking for Chris Wiggin, Ron Renk, and Ryan More. Thanks! R

    Longest Terminal Walk

Will agree that the MSP trek is lengthy at times ... I went to California over the summer and my RDU-MSP flight was delayed by weather in NC. Turned my two hour layover in to 30 minutes and I had to beat feet to make my connection to SJC. The airport is nice, though. I have to agree with the...

    Christmas Bonus?

Last Christmas I received a Christmas bonus of $500 cash, and anticipate something similar this year. I fly Part 91 corporate. Our company unfortunately does not have a profit sharing plan. I anticipate something similar this year. Also, April 1 begins the new fiscal year and will be when I...

    American Eagle is hiring again

Eagle, Thanks for the info. Any speculation on where new hires will be going? I suspect many will be headed to SJU, of course, but I heard about some people being recalled to the CRJ in ORD since there weren't enough people who bid it. Also, what's the seat lock for new hires? And is there...
