Try not to laugh too loudly the next time a flight attendant makes one of those pre-flight announcements to thank you for your business and say, "We know you have a choice in airlines."

I did some commuting on mesa this weekend and just wanted to say it was very nice. On the way back, the plane was full. The captain had MX fix a seat instead of just defering at an outstation so i could get on. Then a company jumpseater sat in the cockpit to make sure i had a seat. Thank you!

I am just confused as to why they paint all these planes in the new colors and then park them. I know it is a MX function, but this still seems strange. Some of the planes in this pic look like 757's? How much does it cost to paint a plane? You...
I have heard pictures existed of the UAL 777 that did the low pass at spruce creek, near daytona beach. Anyone have a link to these, or any detials to add to that story? I've always just heard it all second hand.

I never did like the parking brake on the beech 1900. I can think of a number of times the plane rolled on me when i didn't want it to.
This is in regards to 141 schools which have self examining authority. If you bust a 141 checkride do you write this on future pilot applications? Such as an instrument stage 2 check or whatever? Or during a background check do all ratings you obtained through part 141 show as a pass if you...

Delta to ask pilots for $1B cut
By Marilyn Adams, USA TODAY
Financially ailing Delta Air Lines will ask its pilots for more than $1 billion a year in concessions when labor negotiations resume in the next few weeks.
A reduction that size would reduce Delta's pilot labor costs by almost half...
You have 4000 hours. 1000 PIC beech 1900. Zero jet time. What would be better for your career
: another 1000 PIC beech 1900 time, or 1000 RJ FO time? The goal is to make it to a company
flying larger equipment with better pay.
There is a lot of complaining about colgan....work rules, schedules, no per diem. I am guilty of it too. Basically we want colgan to be allegheny. What i think is a sleeper topic on these boards is that colgan growth is coming from flying routes that allegheny used to fly. ROC-LGA, BUF-ALB...

Mesa circling over Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh's days as a hub may not be numbered after all. US Airways plans to scale back flights there and eliminate Pittsburgh's designation as a US Airways hub. But, for regional carrier Mesa, the Steel City "is an opportunity we are taking a very...

Rocket science? Cheap fares bring more customers: It's nothing we haven't said before here in Today in the Sky, but it bears repeating: Give customers affordable and predictable fares – and the passengers will come. The airlines have slowly – very slowly – begun to figure this...
anyone know the date and time of the erau career fair next month? And do you know which companies will be there? I looked on the erau website...but i couldn't get to the info. thanks
I was wondering what the pay scales looked like at the regionals around 10 and 15 years ago. What did a first year FO make around the early 1990's? First year captain? Was it considered as bad as now? Did people complain about places like mesa back then?
think twice before PFT here. I have a nice story. I am starting my day by cleaning the airplane, preflighting, checking all the seats, (this is your job here...no flight attendent) The captain is checking the weather, checking MELs, and write ups etc. This is the stuff we do an hour before...
