SWA... Comments at Air Inc Conference

Went to the Air Inc conference at LAX this weekend. The People Department made some surprising comments regarding the interview process and March interviews during the presentation and also during the brief talk at their Kiosk: 1. Do not stress about the Line Oriented Interview. We just want to...

    RUMOR:10 more 737s for SWA 2004

A SWA pilot told me that SWA is getting 10 more a/c for 2004 to bring the net to 40 and 57 deliveries for the year. The 737s are from Delta production slots. That's what I heard, if it's true it will not be long until we know for sure. Anybody heard anything that would prove/disprove?

    Type rating no longer required4interview

Folks, On www.southwest.com it now states that a type rating is required for employment but not for interviewing. It looks that this website has just been updated so it looks like it is a new thing. I guess good news for the people that wanted to interview without getting the type rating.

Found this article: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/030828/neth015_1.html This is an announcement about SWA picking a system for "talent optimization" which is a fancy way of saying finding and hiring SWA employees including pilots. This is probably the on-line system we have been talking about...

    Some SWA Info

Southwest Groupies, I can not say who told me this, only that the person KNOWS (it wasn't just a chief pilot) and the person is definitely in a position to know. 1)SWA will let the pool drain to about 60 pilots at a minumum before they are forced to put more pilots in the pool. 2)The online...

    Seat assignments?

Some trains have seat assignments but never the subways given the short amount of time they spend at each terminal. That is quite analogous to the way Southwest operates. However, Southwest is quite an adaptive company and if they thought that would improve their service and overall mission...
