Rumor: USair management offers APA a deal?

Rumors abound stating USair management MAY HAVE offered the APA Delta payrates plus 3%, plus a 7 year fence for their support in a possible merger. No idea if it is true, and this rumor comes from another website. Interesting if true, and good for everyone else too if the bar is raised...

Delta interested in buying an oil refinery?

Yep, according to an article I just read, they are one of four interested potential buyers in the Sunoco Refinery in Philadelphia. If it happens, the airline would use it to bring down fuel costs in the NE. Lots of rumors floating around too besides the 717 rumor, like having a new contract to...

Airtran 717s to fly for Delta?

I have no idea if this is true or not, but someone on APC just threw this out there: "According to Plane Business, Holly Hegman, the Air Tran 717's are going to fly for Delta. This on Twitter in the past hour....." It was on the other website, and I cannot verify this. I also don't...

SWA to have a Q1 loss?

Just read it on Yahoo finance. The CFO said fuel was 15 cents higher than expected per gallon for the quarter. I suggest adding more ancillary fees (like the other thread suggests), or raise the fares a bit. You have to pass the fuel costs onto the customers, just like Fedex and UPS do each...

Where is the Judge Silver announcement for USair and USAPA?

Any news on that front? I thought DP and USair wanted "clarification" on the binding arbitration award and what legally they should do via a Judge Silver? I had heard a ruling would be made by late Feb? DP probably wants to clean things up to make USair more appealing for possible mergers...

Delta is now looking at possible USAir Aquistion

Just saw it on another site, and it's on the WSJ online, but I can't paste it. GREAT. Their hubs sure are close to our hubs. And, employee discontent is there too between the USAir peeps. Godspeed! The OYSter

Article states most airlines could be profitable in 2012

U.S. airlines seen profitable despite economic woes By Karen Jacobs and Kyle Peterson (Reuters) - Most U.S. airlines are poised to report profitable fourth quarters, a trend set to continue in 2012 as cost-cutting and fare hikes help the industry weather rising fuel costs and global...

Southwest and their lack of pay raises and stock in their merger

There, I started a thread for Redflyer. You keep bashing ALPA, but you guys couldn't do any better during your merger with Airtran. You got zero pay raises, zero stock, and SWAPA had to bring in the big guns to talk down the Airtran MEC. I think you may want to look into ALPA, because SWAPA...

SWA Stagnation through 2013? Sasha unable to get upgrade??

"Won LUV" vs "One LUV"---Hilarious --thanks Roomwithaview!

OMG that was funny. GK decided this merger was going to happen, not the pilots. If the initial offer wasn't good enough, then it appears the Process Agreement is next, and that may include arbitration, where many believe the award can only beat that offer. WON LUV! I LUV it. Thanks...

Anyone know who might be the arbitrator?

If it goes to arbitration at SWA/AT, anyone know who will do it? Would it be a group of them? What is his/her record? Not saying it is a certainty that arbitration will happen, but in case it does, who may be involved? Popcorn is ready! Godspeed to everyone involved. OYS

Any SWA or Airtran pilots see recent SLI at Mesaba/Colgan/Pinnacle?

It just came out via Arbitrator Bloch. All Captains, even turboprop Captains at Colgan with lowest pay and no jet prospects, were placed above all FOs. Ty Webb probably read the whole award, twice. If I were an Airtran pilot, I would push for Arbitration. Why not? Precedence is always...

Will SWAPA ask Airtran pilots for $10k each?

Would SWAPA ask Airtran pilots for $10k each? Just wondering, would SWAPA ask each Airtran pilot for $10k each that they DIDN'T have to pay to get a type to interview? Maybe they would collect the money and distribute it to SWA pilots for "restitution" for upcoming arbitration for the SLI...

    Airtran pilots, what about this?

How long will it take you to get SWA pay? I know the 717 is a different type (although same size as a 735) and it could take awhile to negotiate that (really?), but how long until a joint contract? Why wouldn't SWAPA want to do that BEFORE the SLI, like the only previous "successful"...
