Hey Bobo, who is leaving, since I cant imagine with furloughing pilots, thats a position of growth.

The relocation assistance is the company will pay 30 nights in a hotel, if anyone was curious.

Which company are you refering to about the hotel accomodations?

Not posted yet but Etihad will be hiring dispatchers soon, keep checking back. We are short staffed and need several. Pay is around $3800/month. That doesn't sound like much but consider this is tax-free, free housing (nice digs) and free international health benefits. WYSIWYG. One would have to make roughly twice this to net the same amount to pocket in the US. Do the math.

Plus the career and life experience are priceless.

Probably won't garner much interest but Mesaba has a posting for dx'ers. For those interested, remember, they are merging with Colgan and will be relocating SOC facilities from MSP to MEM in next year or so.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the progress of flights. Remain constantly aware of location and status of all company aircraft.
  • Issue necessary information for the safety of the flight.
  • Cancel or amend, (121) flights if, in the opinion of the dispatcher or pilot-in-command, the flight cannot operate or continue to operate safely as planned and released.
  • Monitor the weather along flight routes and at all destinations and alternate airports.
  • Prepare flight control releases, and dispatch aircraft and crews.
  • Will be knowledgeable of applicable CFRs, company policy and procedures and aircraft performance, limitations and characteristics that pertain to operational control of all Trans States aircraft.
  • Orchestrate adjustments to crew and aircraft activity with Maintenance and Crew Scheduling departments.
  • Coordinate irregular operations such as over-fly, divert repositions or maintenance ferry flight with Maintenance Control, Crew Scheduling, and affected stations.
Qualifications/Requirements: Included in position but not limited to:
  • Must be at least 23 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid Aircraft/Dispatcher Certificate.
  • Must have ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented.
  • Dependability is important. Must have an outstanding attendance record in present position.
  • Must have an above average performance in present position.
  • Must be someone with dedication and a high level of motivation. Must be able to function independently.
  • Must be able/willing to work efficiently in stressful situations meeting deadlines.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Willing to work weekends, holidays, shift work.
  • Must pass 10-year FAA background check and FAA mandated pre-employment drug test.
Any exceptions to the above must be approved by interviewing manager.
 
Heard from sources that American is looking for about 15-20 Dx'ers and have about 130-150 applications on file already.
