Why wouldn't I be able to edit my avatar anymore? Digital photos that once worked are no longer allowed. I get the "Unable to save image" screen.

Not being able to edit my posts has been a problem for me off and on for months now ie pushing the "edit" button within the time limit brings up a blank screen. Is anyone working on the format errors at the site? Question marks substituted for quotation marks, etc.
