    I wouldn't log those vmc approaches that weren't under the hood with a safety pilot. If you wanted to you could put it in the remarks section. I only log the real ones ( simulated or actual ). It makes it easier to count back from present to 6 months back to see if I'm current. HS

    I'll give it a shot. Note the outbound heading of the the holding pattern. Now, assuming you are heading directly to the fix, note where that outbound heading falls on the face of the DG(heading indicator). If it falls any where between directly ahead(12 o'clock) and 70 degrees to the right...

    When do you report the hold ? Is it when you first cross the fix on the hold entry or it when you hit the fix the second time. HS
