    TSA and the boarding pass

There is a security directive out that states an airline employee with a valid airline I.D. does not need a boarding pass to go through security. I stress- IF THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN TO ANYONE ON THIS BOARD, IMMEDIATELY DOCUMENT THE SITUATION AND FOLLOW IT UP WITH A REPORT TO YOUR JUMPSEAT...

    Who is Flagship???

For some reason, Pinnacle decided to hire a boat load of foreign pilots over the years from every country in the book. I've never met so many pilots from so many different countries. And for a lot of these pilots, English was their second language. But they aren't bad pilots, it's just a...

    Airnet & jumpseating

I'd just like to say thanks to all the Airnet crews who have welcomed me on the jumpseat. Especially in a time like this when hardly any other cargo airlines are reciprocating. You guys have by far been the most friendly and easiest to jumpseat on. It's always a pleasure!

    American Jumpseat Question

ALPA needs to start incorporating an "Unlimited Jumpseater" clause into all future pilot contracts for each individual airline. Obviously this is something that would take years. But this would solve all of this b.s., and all the hassles of having to carry passes, I.D. 90s, etc. I certainly...

    How hot is your cockpit?

With the CRJ, I think the key is to keep the aircraft cool and not let it get hot. If you have the same aircraft all day, then start the APU asap and leave it running anytime that you are on the ground. When it's hot outside, I set the temp. controllers to full cold on the descent. That way...

    Possible offline Jumpseat restoration

Pilots have been using the jumpseat for years, and now the TSA has decided they need to design a little "jumpseat project." "Well isn't that speccccial" (Church lady / Dana Carvey)

    Possible offline Jumpseat restoration

Does this mean that only a select few will be able to jumpseat offline while the rest of us have to wait another 6 months? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TSA to Get Proposal for Jumpseat Policy The Transportation Security Administration...

    Regional Airlines taking pay cuts?

With all these regionals taking pay cuts and Mesa signing a horrible contract, I'm still trying to figure out why in the H.ELL any one would vote yes for such a thing!? If any members on this board have been at a regional that took a pay cut and voted yes, please explain.

SWA vs. FedEx- Who has better SCHEDULES?

Keith, can you please list the average amount of DAYS OFF per month that a domestic FedEx pilot gets? What are the minimum amount of days off a FedEx pilot gets? What about the maximum days off that the senior pilots get?

SWA vs. FedEx- Who has better SCHEDULES?

Hey Keith, can you give me a sample schedule at FedEx for a senior pilot flying domestic? Like days on / days off for the whole month.

    Clip-on ties vs. hand-tied ties

The zipper tie that I bought from the Stopover Store keeps coming loosened after a few hours. Have any of you guys with zipper ties had this problem?

SWA vs. FedEx- Who has better SCHEDULES?

OK, so what I've gathered so far from the SWA guys is that the max days ON seems to be 4 on. But I understand that having one week on (7 on) is pretty typical at FedEx, and 3 - 4 on is less common. Now that I've seen a sample SWA schedule, maybe someone could post a typical FedEx schedule...

Any cheap JFK hotels with crew discount?

Thanks. But those were all around $60 - $70/night. Do they have any around the $30 - $40 range?

SWA vs. FedEx- Who has better SCHEDULES?

Let me re-phrase my question: Is it possible to get a shi.tload of days off at FedEx (like 18 - 20 days off per month), and only have to work 4 - 5 days at any one period? The same question applies for SWA.

SWA vs. FedEx- Who has better SCHEDULES?

Is it true that most of the FedEx schedules are similar to week on / week off? Does FedEx have any schedules that aren't so long on... more like 3 or 4 on, and 4 or 5 off? I would be interested in hearing what some off the best schedules are like at FedEx, and the best schedules are at SWA...

TSA and the whole Jumpseat problem

Can someone in the know fill me in on what's going on with the ongoing jumpseat problem that still hasn't been fixed (after almost 2 years)? Last I heard was that everything was setup for restoring offline jumpseating but that the TSA was dragging it's feet? And what's this that I hear about...
