It depends on whether you are talking about FAR Part 1 or Part 61. The way our company schedules flights, one pilot is the assigned PIC for the entire flight. Both pilots split the legs for this flight, however only one has the final authority and signs for the aircraft. This person would be the...
Since this training will be used as part of a "severance package" and in turn the money will go unused if not used for another rating, I would advise your friend to go get another corporate type rating. Preferably in something that he/she could do some potential contract flying.
Total fuel: 12,155 lbs
Burn Schedule: 2300 lb 1st hour/1600 lb each additional hour (FL 430)
If you stop at FL410, it will be more like 1800 lb each additional hour.
I would say from my experience at the 2 airports, you may be better off at TEB. I'm pretty sure MMU and TEB use the same departure gates, and if LANNA is shut down at TEB, it will also be shut down for MMU. Additionally, I've been told that for every 3 launches off of TEB, MMU may get 1.
The...
Gear guy:
I have been going through IS-BAO training for my company since the beginning of this year, and did learn that under ICAO, the 1st Class is good for 12 months to the day, instead of to the end of the month. (e.g. - the date on your medical is 6/3/09, then it expires on 6/3/10, under...
Actually, the GII and GIII share a common type rating (G1159). The GIV and GV are seperate types (not quite sure how they are integrated with the 350, 450, 550).
Yes, jets and turboprops burn the same type of fuel, and operate on the same principles, however there are major differences between the two. The obvious differences are the speed and altitudes that each are flown. For me, personally, this was much more of a transition than the operation of...
In the DA2000, we also use HDG/PIT with 11 degrees pitch up.
Some guys I fly with like to Takeoff with raw data, and hand fly until cleared on course. I do this on occasion; helps keep your scan sharp.
We also use FOS. A great program, and can do so many things. For example, if 2 flights are scheduled back to back without adequate rest periods in between, it will inform you. These types of things are great in my opinion.
From what I understand, there are training classes available on...
I just broke out my old WW checklist and can give you some rough numbers. Someone with an ultranav can do much better but here it is:
At: 6,000 ft PA (I know, JAC is 6400)
20 deg C
12 deg flaps
and unpressurized T.O.
The max weight would be 19,500...

Transit Aviation MSY was bought out by Signature a few years back. At MSY, you now have Signature & Atlantic.
I would recommend going into NEW. The tower is now back in operation with limited hours (8am - 6pm I believe). Million Air is providing excellent service. They are operating out of a...
The 90 sim is a non-motion FTD. The 200 sim is full motion. I have done both FTDs and full motion sims, but I did it opposite the way you are going to - I started with non-motion and transitioned to motion.
My experience was with the 90 at Simuflite, not Simcom. Not really sure how much...
I see that SWA has changed their mins again back to 1000 PIC Turbine.
Does anyone know when this change happened and why? I have been out of the loop for a while and happened to notice this on their website.
I did a search on this board, and am shocked that it has not been discussed...
