Some people just interview better than others. You can have a great attitude but if you rub someone the wrong way, it wont happen for you. One guy from my AWA new hire class is an ex Air Force F-117 stealth pilot, a few type ratings, clean record, nice guy. Shot down with Southwest twice, and at a corporate job..

Are you sure of his background? He might have just been trying to get you in bed by telling you that  lol

This says it all... AWA the last stop for "Airlines Worst Applicants".

FlyUnder

It is as simple at that. Does the pilot interviewing you want to spend a 4 day trip with you. Are you a know it all in the interview? Are you too shy? Are you engaging with a few funny or interesting stories to pass the time? At the point you are invited to interview with a major, your resume looks like everybody else's.

If you have individuals who show up on interview day at an airline and are ready to get hired for pilot positions, and only some of those people get hired. All applicants are qualified, paperwork is filled out properly, and everything is in order. What non flying qualites are the airlines looking for when hiring pilots?

# 1 Personality. If you have no personality who would want to be trapped on the flightdeck with you.

the fallacy of all that....look at the complete suck up tools that get into hiring.....with exception of SWA......would not want to even show up to a turn with jerks that hire at most airlines.....
