NetJets Orders Another 40 Hawker Business Jets
Yesterday’s announcement that NetJets has ordered another 40 Hawker business jets brings to about $1 billion the total value of NetJets’ Raytheon Aircraft transactions since last December. That was when the fractional operator contracted for 58 Hawker jets, a purchase valued at about $360 million. The new order, exceeding $300 million in value, is for 20 Hawker 800XPs and 20 Hawker 400XPs to be based in Europe and North America. Deliveries are to be made starting next year through 2007. “Raytheon’s commitment to customer service and quality aircraft were key factors in our decision,” said NetJets chairman Richard Santulli. In addition to these orders, NetJets in February ordered two Hawker 800XPs and signed a comprehensive 10-year maintenance contract with Raytheon Aircraft. NetJets currently operates more than 500 business jets from five manufacturers and employs 2,800 staff pilots (including 500 hired last year, the company said).

Are they replacements or additions?TC

AA717,

The Ultra's will slowly be phased out, however, the number of aircraft coming onto the property is far greater than the numbers leaving. A number of Ultras are actually going to be RVSM certified, so I guess we'll still fly them for a while longer. The Hawker 800XP fleet is expanding, The Excel fleet is expanding, Several Sovereigns are due by the end of the year, and the Beechjet 400XP(Sorry, I can't call it Hawker), is geared up....Hring in going strong.....about 30 interviews a week, I think. And next year the plan is hire several hundred more.

Those numbers are for NJA only. The other sister compnaies are treated as completely seperate entities.
Not true....NJA only has approx 1800 pilots. The article quotes 2800 pilots. That means they did include all the sub-companies, ie...EJM, NJI, NJE and NJME. Worldwide maybe we did hire 500 pilots, but not very many in the States.

i can tell you right now, NJA does not have 500 airplanes (300+ at NJA) nor does it have 2800 pilots(NJA has 1806 as of the last seniority list dated 6/23/2004). these are numbers from NJA, NJI, NJM, NJE and NJmiddle east.
