What kind of drones? For the largest kind I suspect they piggy back on how the air force qualifies their drone pilots. In that case I don't think a dx license will cut it.
I disagree. The dx section is just as dead as this place but who knows. Today was the first time I've been to that website and all I took was a quick glance.
I think the real reason this place is so slow is because the people who posted the most a few years ago have either quit the profession...
In my opinion dispatching is the best ground based job in the airline industry. It can be a rewarding career however I think the longer you wait to get into the business the more apt I would suggest to stay away from it.
Everything is seniority based and if you already have kids do you...
A couple years ago my wife discovered her passport was still in her maiden name the night before we were going to fly to ATH out of JFK. We rushed to the passport office in downtown ATL first thing in the morning (I think we made an automated appointment by phone) and literally within the hour...

Edit: looks like I should have read the job openings thread first. Nevermind ....

It’s sad to hear they have furloughed yet they can only come back as a new hire. I would be very wary going into a situation where employees were treated that way. Who’s to say that won’t happen to you in a couple years?
I seriously considered NetJets years ago. Being they are a subsidiary of...
I think it boils down to if you are single or married. If you are single and want to have memories to last a life time then go for it. If you are married your spouse is most likely going to hate it and you are going to wish you never took the job in the first place.
Speaking about corporate dispatching I have noticed for the last month or so that IBM is hiring as well. I thought corporate gigs were the Holy Grail for dispatcher pay. I'm surprised this job is still posted...
