    Blood Pressure

If you are an ALPA member, contact the aeromedical division, You will get free advice and representation, if necessary, for your medical issues. They will tell you what is required. If you don't belong to ALPA, check out these doctors who specialize in pilot medical certification issues...

Specialist nurse paid higher than family doctors

Actually, compare a Family Doctor to a Family Nurse Practictioner - FNP does not make as much as a Doctor in that area. Compare CRNA to an Anesthesiologist - that is the proper comparison.

Why turn the TCAS to standby on the ground?

Most airports do not want it in the on position on the ground because it clutters their screen with a target that is not airborne.

To Skywest pilots: what's your problem with Mesaba?

Once had a Northwest DC9 FO flip us off during taxi in EWR. He thought we were going to try to cut them off, which wasn't the case. I couldn't believe it. Very professional.

    Air Wisconsin letter?

Yes, they asked us for paycuts to "get" the UAL flying. Flying that they probably knew they wouldn't get. I think they asked us so they could turn around and say, "If only you had agreed to the paycuts, we would have got the flying" and hope that we would believe it.

WSK on Pilot Banter, Training Records, & Crew Rest / Commuting

She is back in the air. And she flies like she was in an accident, you have to use a lot of trim.

Three questions about the Q-400 trim and deice system.

When someone comes on here fishing for info after an accident, they are suspect. You sound like someone who is in the media or with a law firm. Your questions are too pointed - if I had to guess, I would bet you are with a law firm. You can find this all out in discovery once you file a suit...

Flight Instructor Renewal at SF Bay Area FSDOfor 121 Captains

Does anyone know of a San Francisco Bay Area FSDO that will renew a Flight Instructor Certificate for a 121 CA (non check airman)? I'd like to avoid taking a renewal program if possible. Thanks.

    8 Hour Rule

It is legal to start, legal to finish. You can't be scheduled to exceed 8 hours in a day. You can actually exceed 8 hours if you have delays and such that affect it. It is a daily basis, not a leg by leg basis.

AA MD80 engine failure at LGA yesterday on takeoff

I've watched many MD80's struggle to take off with both engines off of 13 at LGA. I've thought the same thing about an engine failure off of 13, they would be doomed. It's hard to believe they have the performance to do that. Thank goodness this turned out well. Hats off to the crew for the...

United Takes Action to Protect Customers

With the price of fuel, cancelling those flights might have actually saved UAL money. They should be thanking those pilots who called in sick.

    SFO Parking

I didn't say anything about Virgin America. I don't work there. I work on the east coast and commute from SFO. Just looking for some ideas for parking. Gas is too expensive to have my spouse drive me 50 miles to the airport and then pick me up 5 days later, 200 miles on the car.

    SFO Parking

Can anyone recommend any crew parking solutions at SFO? I've heard if your carrier does not serve the airport you can park in some area near short term parking, but it's pricey. Any suggestions/info would be appreciated.

Paying thousands for a slim chance to get hired at SWA??

Before you open a can of whoop a$$ on this guy, try actually reading his post. He HAS applied to Southwest and is thinking about the type.

    Pinnacle Jumpseat

Well smart guy, other airlines HAVE done this. Air Wisconsin got rid of the second galley coffee maker, some commissary items, no crew bags in the cockpit closet and added 100 lbs of permanent ballast to the cargo hold, all in an effort to eliminate the need for ballast. We rarely need to ask...

UAX Letter to UAL Pilots over jumpseat dispute.

What I don't get is this: the gate agent does not decide who rides the jumpseat. The Captain does. If a mainline pilot and a pilot from my own company come up to me to ride the jumpseat, i'm going to put the guy from my company on. Period. If the gate agents aren't letting you down to the...
