Perhaps a bounced landing that didn't turn into a go-around.

That would make more sense than the eyewitness who said the plane was taking off, became airborne, fell to the runway, then incurred a nose gear collapse.

It was a Philly-Lauderdale flight....

Talk is an abort at 30 feet or so....
