Wow....just relax

A little misinformation sure goes a long way.

1. The kid is the youngest active ALPA member. Remember that you do not have active status while on the first year of employment, also known as ---PROBATION. So he probably is the youngest member of ALPA with 1 year under his belt.

2. The older guy is the oldest active member of ALPA. Not active because he wakes up and runs 5 miles or flies his 152 for fun. He is an actively employed sim instructor at an airline where the instructors are covered under the ALPA CBA. (And he's a hell of a nice guy)

Back to your regularly scheduled flame war.
 
My greater concern is that ALPA has no retired members older than 78...This job does kill you early.

I guess I better tell my friend who is well into his 80's that ALPA kicked him out. Please cite a source for that statistic so we can get it corrected.
