Spirit ad makes punchline of Schwarzenegger-Shriver split

By Ben Mutzabaugh, USA TODAY

CAPTION
Spirit Airlines

Spirit Airlines, which has a long history of using off-color advertising and marketing, is rolling out a promotion to capitalize on the high-publicity break-up of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. In a video on its website, Spirit channels Schwarzenegger's famed "Terminator" character by showing an infra-red image that eventually settles on a well-proportioned house maid.

Spirit: 'We're no Virgin! We've been cheap and easy for years'
"Sexy maid acquired," the video reads after showing her in a racy uniform.
Next, the video scrolls a message saying: "Fares so low, you can take the whole family! Including that half-brother you just met."
Previously, Spirit has courted controversy with items such as a "MILF (Many Islands Low Fares) Sale" and with fictitious promotional characters -- such as the busty Justice Ochita Suprema -- that some have criticized as insensitive and racist.
Today's talker: What do you think of Spirit's promotional tactics? Are they all in good fun or is it a step too far? Share your thoughts.

Give me a break...

Let's all admit it - Schwartzenegger is a grade-A dooooooooooosh bag who's been lying for years. Decent actor (I liked the movie Predator), big-time lier. Hey Arnold, this ain't Europe where that type of behavior is perfectly acceptable and expected...

I agree that Spirit is pushing the boundaries here, but they are making a point and getting some attention for it - which is the purpose of advertising (to stand out in the crowd). With Spirit's nickle-and-dime pricing and tight seating, nobody should confuse Spirit for high-class anything... So, this ain't that surprising. They are getting the attention they desired.

Gimme a break, we're talking about the Kennedy clan here.

Its funny how you retards post this like its the spirit pilots fault or have any saying about the company ads.
