A mutually beneficial working relationship between the ASA MEC, the XJT MEC, and the Company is essential. Our Transition and Process Agreement (TPA), as agreed to by the Company, ASA and XJT MECs, establishes terms for a smooth transition process to reach a single, unified Pilot group with a single contract. The Company and the XJT MEC met last week without the ASA MEC to obtain new equipment terms and conditions, including new equipment pay rates.

If management approaches either of the pilot groups to make significant changes to our current CBAs, we could soon find ourselves in a ‘race to the bottom’ scenario by negotiating with either MEC separately. Notable changes to one contract without the approval of the other MEC could result in consequences that would compromise reaching a JCBA. Without question, whipsawing is a common tactic used by airline managements – such tactics must be defended against by enforcing our Transition and Process Agreement. The ASA MEC supports the XJT MEC obtaining favorable terms and conditions for new equipment; however we feel it is important to follow the agreed-upon process to reach such agreement.

Dear ASA MEC:

If you want us to negotiate a JCBA than dont draw a line in the sand and demand "your way or the highway" on certain provisions. You not only pissed off the LXJT MEC, but apparently you pissed off the company also. You have caused this, not us and now YOU want a seat at the table to try to influence something that has to do with OUR contract.

Please explain how we have lowered the bar? Have we agreed to a cheaper rate for 70+ seat airplanes that LASA? Did we prod management to negotiate these rates?

You want a say in how LXJT negotiates a part of their contract, but L-ASA demands that LXJT accepts their PBS. What could possible going on in the heads of the ASA MEC?

"...MEC will negotiate with one goal in mind, a unity of purpose, and close cooperation..."

My @ss! You guys drew a line in the sand and pissed off many people, including management. And now you come on here to "...ensure all pilot’s interests are represented..." Good one!

Maybe they know something you don't from 2 years of bidding with it?

Globalization sucks! Ask any Continental pilot. It makes no difference what brand--Ames, AOS, SmartPref, or ADOPT.

The Delta pilots figured that out when they chose Navtec, the only seniority based system at the time, over the previous mentioned systems. Yes, SmartPref was available then and it was tested (to the extent that a non-operating system can be). It was rejected because it did not honor seniority and awards could not be explained. That's a good enough testimony for me. By the way, they were in bankruptcy.

Maybe line pilots should do some homework and make some phone calls to any buddies you have at Delta, ASA, Republic, and Virgin America.

It's clear that you are being mislead and information is being controlled by just a few "experts" (tounge in cheek).

Seek the truth, and you shall be set free!

ASA MEC tells management, literally at the negotiating table, that they are willing to hold the merger up indefinitely for flight line pref bid. Management then walks out and asserts their right under the XJT CBA to invoke section 26. ONLY MANAGEMENT CAN DO THIS! THE XJT MEC CANNOT KEEP MANAGEMENT FROM EXERCISING THEIR CONTRACTUAL RIGHTS! This has NOTHING to do with LXJT. This was the DIRECT result of the ASA MECs action! And now we are all going to pay for it, although I would guess it will be worse for the LASA side.

Wake up people and think logically.
