I´m hearing that Southern and some other 747 operators are hiring away a bunch of active and furloughed Tradewinds crewmembers. Anybody confirm or deny?

Yeah, heard most of the furloughed guys ain't coming back.
(Don't blame 'em)

Tradewinds have always been a training school for other 'lines, last year it was Focus, now it is Southern and others.

The Einsteins in GSO can't figure out why people are leaving.....

Yeah. I can hear them now, probably saying something like..."But why are you leaving ? You get to fly a 747 !"

CSY Mon,

How many 747's are being operated by Tradewinds now, and where are they flying them?

Thanks and good luck!

Saw one on the ground in BFM last night. Really dark and no one moving around either.

The one in BFM is there for heavy MX. Currenlty there are 3 a/c operating....well when they arent broke

Just heard through the ether today that they lost their certificate. Can anyone confirm this?

Nah, they did not loose the certificate.

TDX had an extensive FAA audit a few months ago and came out clean.

They are not really trying to cut corners, just incompetent when it comes to hire MX managers that can get the job done
Then trying to remote control an airline from GSO: If something goes wrong out in the field they start pointing fingers at the crews right away.
The Einsteins don't understand that the planes are old, tired and poorly maintained, they think the crews are wreckless drivers and should be punished for breaking the planes..

2 whales flying on South America out of MIA, and one LAX plane flying on Asia, then the 4th one, which is THE dog of the fleet and currently in the hospital for a C check. Many are hoping it will never come back.

What's the N number of that plane?

Bad location

It seems like the Triad Area INT/GSO is simply not going to be a good area for pilot employment for the forseable future.
