because we have the best group of pilots around

Did you mean to say "Southwest has the best group of Pilots around" Cus thats what I have heard.

I personally think Jet Blue will be OK in the long run... however, I just fly airplanes and have no idea what is happening behind closed doors. They have grown very fast... makes me think of people's express...sometimes.

:pimp:

There is no furlough policy because we don't furlough, never have and never will
Sure, Nobody ever said that before. Jblu is not immune to anything, I think doug's letter points that out rather plainly.

"excluding transition related expenses".

Giggle.

Translated: "We're not going to come close to earning a profit either."

Perhaps. But if we do lose money it will be because of the one time charges
associated with the merger pushing us into the loss column, not the operation ,as is the case at JetBlue.

Before I would go off half cocked about who will beat who......you must look at the "segments" of the airline business.

U certainly has a lot of business flyers who demand first class, upgrades, lounges, and worldwide service, and they make their bread and butter on those folks and at the same time carry lots of families on vacations. Legacy carriers concentrate on people who HAVE to fly for their job/work.

JB caters to more of the discretionary traveler, like the families who are on vacation and the occasional traveller. Of course, they carry their share of business people who have to fly to work and that is where the battleground, but their bread and butter is people who fly because they WANT to. In other words, they will fly if they can afford it.

I think they cater to different segments of the business. Some customers will choose one over the other. Some choose price, some choose schedule, some choose service. There is enough to go around.

This is all a mute point if jetA stays at $2.50-3.00 per gallon. There isn't a profitable route with that kind of fuel bill in the US.

I think you can't overlook JetBlue's flying into: BOS-JFK, BOS-IAD, JFK-BUF, JFK-SYR, JFK-ROC, JFK-RIC as business traveler routes more than leisure. I hear the E-190 is flying full loads between BOS-JFK and BOS-IAD. That's certainly taking some business travelers away from the competition.

How's the pilot seniority list integration going at LCC? I see it very rough going as USAir pilots are much more senior than AWA's pilots. However, I find it interesting that AWA pilots feel their company somehow saved USAir and were instrumental in the merger. AWA didn't have any great sums of money to make this happen, they borrowed the financing to merge with USAir.

As for stock price, sure LCC has made many investors happy. If I had some LCC stock though, I'd be selling. They aren't making money this year and 1st quarter "earnings" will prove that.

People like 32 only shut up when they are banned for showing the type of character they are. Did he not post a child pornography website he had been frequenting to try and get someone's goat by telling that person that it was his/her daughter? How classy. Now he won't even acknowledge that fact. 32, I saw on the scab list there was someone busted in a child porn ring...that you? If it's not, he's better than you.

I think you all just got punk'd by Rhoid, a.k.a. 32LT10.

P.S.- jetBLUE pilots are a class act. So are all of the real United, American, Southwest, Spirit, and AirTran pilots I have ever met, even when I was an RJ driver bumming a ride to work. Thanks for not being d1cks in real life.

"disposing off"??? Can you clarify that statement as it does not make sense. Funny you would dispute my spelling of blew with such gross errors of your own. I suppose it should be jetblow for now and jetblew when Needleman folds the tent and take the revival to a new location.

I remember the good old days at Uterusnited, back in the days 32lt remembers the fondest! The gym at check in, voting yourselves payraises! That worked well. Now 32Lt is an old drunk who comes on the boards and raves. Rave on 32LT! It is like watching a once proud hunting dog trying to mount a sack of flour. Does anyone understand what I just wrote? Thats how I feel when I read 3210lt's posts.
