Here's a financial nugget for you: Motley fool and seeking alpha are for suckers

Motley Fool and Clark Howard jizz on the screen each time they have an opportunity to promote SWA. It's such a fascination that any investment opinion they have about the airlines is severely tilted to the point of worthlessness and often downright wrong factually.

That's pretty funny. Probably the same reaction waveflyer and redflyer get.:smash:

The facts are...

1- Clark Howard has told Atlantains to drive west to Birmingham for the best deals for years.

2- Now he doesn't have too.

3- Delta has already announced softer sales from a new unamed competitor in Atlanta.

You do the math.

SWA will leave a dent but not a big one. Delta has the best mgmt in the industry right now...hands down.

Here you go.

"The variance to recent guidance is due primarily to the impact from competitor fare actions in the second half of the month."

And yet Southwest lost $18 million in Q1 2012

Delta made $124 million in Q1 2012.

You are down how many departures in PHL?

How about your big expansion in ATL? Never materialized.

How about losing the 717, and not replacing them?

How about the problems you are having with outsourcing of labor? (wow, sounds familiar)

Your CEO is basically calling on you guys to give concessions, because your costs are TOO HIGH!

How about you clean up your own house. Stop jumping for joy over bad news for other airlines (which really isn't bad news). Or maybe, just maybe you can run over and sodomize waveflyer over this latest little nugget. Who knows, today's news is tomorrow's celebration!
If you two trolls weren't so predictable, it would almost be boring coming here!
AMF!

Well said! SWA got spanked by Airways in Philly yet people think Delta is scared! SWA probably dropped those ATL fares so low so their planes wouldn't be empty.

It's been a good run for SWA, a run that lasted alittle longer than it was supposed to because of the fuel hedges. The next 10 years will be the fall of SWA and the rise of the Legacies

Don't forget that Delta is underfunding their pension by estimating higher returns on their pension assets than something like 90 percent of other companies. This could account for such good short term numbers.
