Contact info at AWAC

I am back in the mode of faxing and emailing out resumes.

I have the name of a contact at almost every airline I'm sending them to. I usually address the letter to the person in charge of pilot recruitment; that is, by their specific name. I have addressed it to the Chief Pilot at a couple of smaller companies.

But I have been unable to find the name of the person who runs the recruiting offices at AWAC. Also, I noticed their are two recruiting offices, one in Appleton and one in Denver. Do any of you AWAC pilots have names for those two offices?

If not, who do you address letters to? I've always thought that "Pilot Recuitment" or "To whom it may Concern" both sound cold and impersonal.

Finally, how does 2000TT, 500 Multi, current Part 135 in a C-401 sound? No connections, buddies, or relatives involved.

Apparently the information is then entered into a database, and calls made from there. Rumor here is that internal recomendation is extremely valuable! I understand that classes are to be 10-15 a month till early next year, but did hear an unconfirmed rumor that this is being increased to 25. Good Luck to All who send their info. pretty good place to work, even if morale is in the dumper.

Morale

Morale is low, but most of us still think this is a great place to work and are optimistic about the future. It is a classic case of "the grass is greener on the other side". The fact is, we are used to lots of growth and being the best paid regional pilots in the industry and that is not the case anymore. However, we are far from the bottom, and still in a position to grow.

I have never heard the 'low morale' comments about AirWis, why is that? what is upgrade time there?

I heard they'll have a new base in ATL doing AirTran Jet Connect, is that where new-hires are going?

finally, how hard is it to get Denver for a base?

1. The 'low morale' issue is coming from the fact that certain issues that were pressed at the time of the new TA do not seem to be coming into effect (we were lied to by management - GO FIGURE!!) It will be some time before everything is in place and we will see from there.

2. With everything that has happened in the past couple of years including getting rid of the Doinkers upgrade has move to about 2 1/2 years from <1 year. All this can change as the Company is looking at other options and see below.

3. ATL has been a crew base for a year now. Airtran are evaluating the Jet Connect operation and are trying to work out how many and what type of A/C they want. Pretty much confirmed they want at least another 20+ aircraft but whether these will be 50's or 70's is anyones guess (Management say operating 70's is not feasable due to what AirTran want to pay for them).

4. DEN is really senior and flying has been cut right back there due to MESA and Skywest picking up the flying. Those who remain DEN based seem to mainly operate from there to the midwest and east coast. DEN is real senior most ORD Captains can't hold reserve at DEN and a top 20ORD F/O would be bidding 50+ at DEN with close to 3 years behind them.

I keep telling everyone who want to be Denver based to apply to SkyWest or Mesa. Denver is VERY senior for AWAC.
