It was/is the call sign for C. C. Air out of CLT, for U.S. Airways express. They are now owned by mesa.

Who's this?

Who is Scenic? I hear them on L.A. and Salt Lake Center, they seem to fly real low.

And who is "Vegas Heat"? I hear them flying into Vegas all the time.

Thanks in Advance!

What do all the initials stand for

I know some like ASA, ACA, etc. but what about CCair

I would bet that Scenic is Scenic Airlines (?) out of LAS. Sightseeing operation for the most part from what I understand. Twin Otters and F-27s. I wouldnt expect to hear them much on center but then I am not familiar with how they operate.

O.k. I've got one. Anyone know who "CRITTER" is? Heard them the other night on MSP center.

"Critter" was Valuejet as Air Tran used to be "Manatee" once the 2 companies became one they are now known as "Citrus".

And for those interested we go by "Flagship"
Express Airlines I, (NW Airlink)

More call signs

Great thread so far :)

I've got two that have been bugging me for a while -- hope these haven't been covered already.

Kansas?

Night Owl?

Probably the best one that I've heard in a while is "Jedi" - F-16's out of Madison, WI if I'm not mistaken.

Take care,
