Msg from FedEx MEC Vice Chair

I was asked on Tuesday before our hub-turn meeting to relate there how much gratitude is in the hearts of Jon Bewley's family. The response has been incredible by all accounts and Jon's wife has asked that her heartfelt thanks be conveyed to you all. What a classy and worthwhile endeavor. The stories of how some people are helping Jon are just incredible. Such efforts are our finest hour and our best work. Just one thing . . . if you haven't contributed yet, please do so.

Bad things happen to good people. My check is in the mail, and my heart goes out to the family.
I make this contribution in the name of Holly Fulton-Mullins a former FedEx Captain who was a dear friend and whom I helped learn to fly in the late 60's.

Check is in the mail. My challenge goes out to all my friend at UAL corp. and my fav. flight info character-- Lowecure!!

it still blows me away that in the most "advanced society" things like this happen.

I am referring to the fact of not receiving even a scrap of salary or Gvmt. benefit.
I had it I am going back to EU.That' s crap. One day you have a normal life 2 days later you have to sell your home, car and dog just to survive.
On the positive note, people in the US are great when it cames to pull toghether. That is commendable and we in EU should learn from it ( it will never happen that' s the sad feeling about it).

God bless this guy.

A Little Help For A Fellow (Former) TWA Pilot

My check is on its way and so are my prayers for Jon and his family.

May you have a full and speedy recovery.

Thought everyone out there would want to see this. - disco

From the Bewley Family: This week, MEC Chairman Captain David Webb
received the following message from Jane Bewley, wife of Second Officer
Jon Bewley. As you remember, Second Officer Bewley was diagnosed with
several cancerous brain tumors earlier this year and is undergoing
treatment, but is ineligible for long-term disability because he was at
FedEx less than six months prior to beginning his treatment and is
therefore receiving no income.

"I have been trying to find the words to convey to your group at FedEx
the gratitude my family has for the support and generosity that has been
shown to us over the past few months. The fund that was started by
Captain Scott Stratton and Captain Ross Kendall and supported by the
union has been overwhelming. Scott and his wife Kerstin have handled the
fund with the assistance of their children. We are grateful for all they
have done. We have received so many wonderful cards and notes of concern
from so many people. I hope to be able to answer all of them. Until I do
would you please convey my very heartfelt thank you to so many that took
time out of their busy lives to touch ours.

"Jon's treatment is still ongoing and I know without a doubt that this
has given him strength to keep going and keep a positive attitude. I
know I will never forget the kindness that has kept my family going
through this time. It has taken a burden off of me to try to keep things
going by myself. It has meant that I could take the time off to care for
Jon and also Jonny and Daisy. Please convey my very sincere gratitude
and appreciation for all their support."

If you want to contribute do you have to be a Fedex pilot or a 121 guy? I m a 135 guy who is a cancer survivor and I know his family's worries and would really like to contribute-here comes tip money from the passengers. God bless, and I hope for the best.
