World / North American in Bankruptcy AGAIN

Matlin / Patterson has been out of it since the first Chapter 11. Lately, it's been the usual incompetence and stupidity.

    Will Atlas get 777s?

Posted by King Baby over on pprune: I guess the LOA for the 777's released yesterday afternoon by the Union means nothing right? MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ATLAS AIR, INC. and THE PILOTS in the service of Atlas Air, Inc. as represented by INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF TEAMSTERS, AIRLINE...

Lufthansa Cargo MD-11 down in Riyadh

Mmmm-kay...maybe "nice job on walking away from bad landing"...bad landing being defined as one where you can't use the airplane again. Standing by for the usual ominous and alarmist rantings regarding the MD11...especially from the folks that have spent more time on the internet than in an...

    World Airways Hiring?

That's how a temporary bid works. How would you have them do it? Can't very well pay protect the PFEs on something they'd never be qualified on.

    Evergreen Sonair

According to World's Director Passenger Sales: "Encouraged by the increasing passenger and cargo loads, and fueled by increased oil exploration and production, Sonangol wanted to expand the scope of the Houston Express concept and purchased two ex-ANA B-747-400 aircraft towards that end."...

    Evergreen Sonair

Nor the class of service you'll see on on a World MD11 with 101 seats (12 first, 38 business) and 13 or so FA's- as long as you can pry some of that good catering out of their paws.

Rumors at World: *Contract is over in September (furlough 60 FA's). *Sonair already has three 74s on the property waiting to be operated by a contractor to the US and China. *They want an Angolan pilot in the cockpit, will never happen with a World contract. *They want Angolan FAs, another World...

    No More ATA At Capital

Are you sure? I always heard that ATA bought World and North American through their wholly owned subsidiary "New ATA Holdings". Then when World and NAA found out that ATA wanted to really "bring them under their wing" they hired Global Aero Logistics to help with the transition, which pissed...

Misleading ALPA Press Release about ATA's Shutdown

Flynlow, what willl be your take when another carrier like Northwest, Omni, or Miami Air(for example) picks up some of ATAs AMC flying? You know they will (esp. NWA,just wait and see). I suspect other carriers will benefit more, at least in the short term, from ATAs flying than WOA/NA. World...

Misleading ALPA Press Release about ATA's Shutdown

http://www.alpa.org/DesktopModules/ALPA_Documents/ALPA_DocumentsView.aspx?itemid=12550&ModuleId=12567&Tabid=73 They met with a bunch of other airlines, too. Wonder who the pivot man was at the GAL circle jerk.

    North American

Are your sure about about your numbers there? Though I don't really know, all I've got to go on is past rumor/speculation of MX reps, Ops reps, other pilots and, of course, various web sites. Even before GAL and all, I never heard that ATA would operate 7-9 DC10s. So, if you're real, real sure...
