The day AS buys 767's or any widebody and starts flying international out of SEA, SFO, LAX, and JFK will be the end of many code share deals they presently have.
AS will have to decide whether it wants to be a code share $#@#$ to every foreign airline looking to do business in the US or become...
That's all you have to do to become "notorious" at HAL, drop an app online to Delta....
Funny thing is, why would you brag if you hadn't been offered a job?
Wait.... I thought due to SWA's superior "cost containment" they were able to make money where everyone else lost. What about $59 each way from FLL to MDW?
"This is exactly the same tone of message delivered during the -800 talks regarding going to HI. "we need the -800 to go to HI, where else would we go with it?" (direct quote from chief of training). Next thing you know, the "rumor" morphed into must have the -800 to go to HI. And now we fly the...
Bubba,
That was a good synopsis of what SWA is doing to address OPS issues, and a major rebuttal to "just thinking". That comes off much more intelligent than just telling him to shut up because he is willing to verbalize what many may think but not write. The STFU crowd is just like the rest...
At what point would SWA dispatchers divert or actually cancel flights inbound to MDY when there are 31 airplanes waiting for gates????? If the facts are as they are written in the story, then indeed SWA does deserve a fine for poor operational control.
Tanker,
One of the little pleasures in life to me is knowing that you will never (nor want to be) a Delta pilot. That's why I only try and fly Delta.

Well EK diverted and landed safely.
BA jet had to declare emergency fuel while crossing the pond and make emergency landing in Manchester I believe.
Your right, EK much more conservative and safe than BA.
Exactly.... it's gonna be at least a couple of decades before the animosity is retired out of the AA system, at all employee levels. Everyone feels cheated and entitled and they have let mgmt convince them that the only way to recover is to take it out on their coworkers.
Your "ridiculous restrictions" were what let DFW float bonds to build what would become a behemoth that would best serve both Dallas and Ft Worth. Without the restrictions, there would have been no assurance that Meacham and Love wouldn't have continued on to undercut the new expensive...
Great 8,
Hope we as a nation can all be employed by ME companies in the future as we buy all our stuff from the Chinese.
You can root for EK all you want, but you won't find a ton of support here on an American based web site. Call it Xenophobic if you insist, but there used to be a time when...
Delta/NW furloughs got full furlough length of service until they bypassed. Then the time suspends until they returned. If no bypass, then no break. That was always in the DAL contract (didn't stop them from furloughing though) but NW furloughs inherited this when they merged with DAL.
I...
