Why an Medical for UAV pilots?

Just wondering why companies are now requiring class 2 phy for a job flying uav's from some ground based position.. seems they are missing out on alot of experienced pilots that retired or lost their medicals.. just wondering what the folks think...

What if the UAV operator passes out and the UAV winds up in downtown Tehran. Oh, right....that could never happen.
