Fellow pilots,

We are having trouble filling interview classes...pilots are just not showing up.

Now, I know some possible reasons. What do you think are their reasons for not showing up for an interview?

Serious responses only please.

Are there really a bunch of people not showing up for class at Skywest?

Apparently half are showing up for the interview.

No union
Single payscale

I won't touch the Union vs Non union can of worms. In my opinion, I don't think a new hire with no airline experience cares whether or not they will work for an airline who has or has not. Ok...maybe I'll touch it a little ; )

Payscale...

I agree 100%. I am embarrassed to be flyin one payscale.

Newhire pay...

I think they should be paid at least $22 /hr

no union is THE reason i never applied to skywest, so yes people with no 121 experience do think about such things

No Union is a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

Pay being not being atleast $24 if not more for first year f/o is what keeps me away.
