Has anyone out there heard anything about Virtual Flight Surgeons out in Colorado for help in medical issues? I am 32 years old and recently have been diagnosed with a vascular disease which has me grounded for the time being. I was told by an AME that getting FAA to sign off is dependent upon diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. I was thinking about using VFS to help make a case to the FAA. Thanks for the help/responses!!

I saw them give a presentation at the Corporate Aviation Safety Seminar a few years ago. They have a good website. www.aviationmedicine.com. It seems like a helpful service to me but a friend who had heart issues thinks it is just as easy to do it yourself. He went through the process twice. If you are an AOPA member they are also an excellent medical resource. I am very sorry to hear that you are grounded. Good luck and hopefully you will be back in the air soon.
