US Airways plane hit by small truck waiting for T/O.

Darn, I thought I was going to read about one of those new flying trucks waiting for takeoff and it hit a jet.

Maybe the tug driver thought he was driving an A380.

speaking of the PHL ramp - anyone see the fuel tanker truck with a large dent (about 3X3 foot and 10 inches deep) in side of the tank? How did that get there?

I saw that, too! Kinda scary!

A fuel truck tipped over when the driver took a turn too fast last year, near the F gates.

If you reread the article closely, you will see where the reporter clearly states that the plane was hit by a "track". So I'm certain that the tug was there only to assist in the removal of this errant piece of track. I would think the bigger question should be, from what aircraft did this "track" fall? Who is accountable? Or was it more space debris?

Please everyone. Request a runway "track" inspection so a tragedy like this one can't happen again!!

That happens about once a year. 12 years in the US Air system I've actually seen it 3 times. Once in DCA (2001) and twice in PHL (2005 and 2010).

who remembers the trailer?

good times.

- in a weird sort of way I miss the weekly bathroom toilet floods resulting in the small lake in the center of the trailer.

- the rampies area in the back

- the lice infested couch

- the boobie traped collapsing picnic table (saw a peidmont FA get pinned under it)

- the cain link pad locked crew meal refrig

- seeing what kind of new porn somebody downloaded (or put the screen saver) on Mesa's crewroom (the closet) computer. Or better yet when someone super glued the keyboard and mouse to the desk.

- watching Mesa BE-1900 guys flip out when both of their new lazyboy chairs and couch were filled with Allegheny and Piedmont crews sleeping during a 4 hour sit.

- the 3 by 5 foot smoking room in the back that always had 10 people crammed into it.

- the night I saw 2 rampies get in a fight in the vending machine area (middle of the trailer). One shoved the other into the middle vending machine busting the front plexiglass. They kept fighting for about 20 seconds after the plexiglass broke until it dawned on them the food inside was wide open for taking. Then they became best friends and cleaned out the vending machine leaving only the sugarless gum behind.

- the stolen tug left behind the Subway on Island Ave.
