I jumpseated LHR-IAD last month on UA. I went to the ticket counter about an hour and a half before departure, listed and paid £99 in taxes there. They knew exactly what I was talking about when I said I was an offline jumpseater and gave me a coach seat which the purser upgraded to business class once on board. Very easy and pleasant experience.
