in what conditions do you garrett(TPE-331-10T) drivers out there manually turn on the ignitors?

all the above, plus standing water on the takeoff runway.

dont be afraid to use the anti-ice on the tpe-331. its a rotten nasty engine that does not fare well with any ice on its inlets.

If the TPE331 has NTS the only time you need to turn on the continious IGN/ignitors is while taxing thru standing water..

This is on the mighty J32.....

i did mean inflight conditions, thanks for all the comments!

Cheap insurance

Don't be shy about the ignition.

Standing water; heavy precip; ice on the inlets....
All good reasons.

Also:

--A nice slug of ice on the spinner when descending into warmer temps even if the inlet is clean.

--Moderate to severe turbulence can have the same effect on the burners as extinguishing a match with a quick flick of the wrist.

--Contaminated runways in general.

Fly safe.
