The Ministry of Transportation said it conducted a "thorough investigation" and confirmed it wasn't a Canadian Forces jet witnesses saw.

This is pretty comical. If it was, indeed, flying low and fast, I'd wager there would be US & Canadian Air Force Pilots that couldn't say for sure whether this jet was a CF-18 or F-18 if it they were taken by surprise. Now they ask a bunch of people in Trail, "Hey, was it a Canadian or US jet?" and expect them to VID it? I'm not saying it wasn't an American fighter, but eyewitness accounts (which are notoriously unreliable) by Trailians is what they're going on, I'd say go back to the investigation.
