According to our government, a single person could be living off $9,000 a year and not be considered impoverished! If that's not bad enough, consider this:

I earned $25,000 last year as a manufacturing lead. A family of six could have taken in the same amount, and yet they too would have been above the poverty line.

What a f*!#in joke!
 
soooooo, if I understand this right, I am actually doing pretty well. I mean, I can afford ramen noodles most of the time and occassionally I can even splurge on electricity to heat up the water to cook the noodles! Thankyou HHS for making me understand and appreciate my lavish lifestyle!
 
Well I am actually below the povety level right now.

me too...until monday when I sign the papers and officially accept the charter job. I am happy though that come monday I will only need one more job to pay the bills rather than the 2 others I had (still have) while flight instructing.
