Why does the cabin heat and cabin defroster need to be on when using the alt static source?

Sorry, couldn't help it. I believe it is due to the ambient temperature increasing inside the cabin. The alt static vents into the cabin and increasing the temperature changes the pressure per the Ideal Gas Law...
