We are looking at getting satellite phones for our aircraft. Anybody have any advice on phones and plans? Thanks in advance.

We put an Aircell Iridium in a C650 I used to fly. Great phone. Two handsets, one in the cockpit, one in the cabin. Cost us approx. 30k for acquisition and installation. Aircell has different plans available. We did 100 min/month, which was usually way more than we needed. Only downside was that we couldn't dial 1-800 #'s, and in order to call the plane, either an international call has to be made, or you can do a "patch" through a ground based number. I just programmed the owner's cell phones to dial the ground number first, 3 pauses, then dial the 12 or 14 digit satellite number, so all they had to do was press the speed dial. Other than that, worked great.
