For almost any GA aircraft the answer would be no. Just make sure the adjustment is such that both flaps fall within the proper angles for all positions(proper calibrated tool required) as specified in TC, rod ends are in far enough and all safeties are secure.
Thanks for the input guys. I knew these and just needed confirmation. It seems one of the other guys I fly with, a non-A&P'd pilot, thinks he knows more than he really does.
