1. What models have replaced this series?
2. Can any of these airplane models in the CRJ series be lawfully and feasibly modified to have a range of 5,000 nautical miles for use as converted private jets?
3. What rear-twin-engine T-tail commercial jetliners, not Douglas/MD, can be made to have a range of at least 5,000 nm either as standard production aircraft or through proper aftermarket modifications for converted private use?
 
Embraer Legacy has a range just over 3400 nm. I am not sure how much more fuel you can cram into them. The planes were never designed to go 5000 nm to begin with. I'd imagine it could be done with ferry tanks in the cabin and pay enough for the STC's anything is possible.
