How much does a person make as a Southwest trainee in Dallas? Do you get per diem?

Thanks

As a ramper you get paid day one, even during training.

44.15 per trip until 9/1/06 then 45.9. No per diem until on the line.
trip total 89 for 31 day bid period, 87 for 30 day, 85 for 28/29 day.

to add to what N1kawotg said, it gets much better when you start flying because you can drop your first year trips for some second year ones...what a nice pay raise :)

And dishonest.

Chest, You either obviously have no idea what you're talking about or you have no motivation to make almost twice the pay for the work you do.

The system is designed that way, intentionally. It is not dishonest in the least.

No, this was designed to reward first year pilots for flying extra. Fly extra, you get more pay. To give away one's flying simply to pick up the same value/day for second year pay, I have to say is "working the system" in a way that does not seem very forthright and honest.
