It wasn't the leap that killed 'em, it was the sudden stop...
 
I guess if I were going to commit suicide, this would be an acceptable method.
But on the other hand, most of the stearman's I flew, there could have been a rattlesnake on board. That being the case. He was outside before remembering; We're flying today.

All fun aside. My prayers go out to those love one's he left behind to deal with this.
