Does anyone have any idea where to find information on aircraft accidents from a long time ago?

The accident I'm looking for information on happened on August 28, 1930 in or around Milwaukee. That's before the time of even the CAA, and I don't know if there was even a formal accident investigation branch at that time- maybe accidents were just covered by the local fire department. I know I could go to the library and start going over the microfilm, but I'm hoping there is an internet resource available.
