You should probably change the title....otherwise I don't think this will get much read.
Speaking of NW/DAL pilot merger, what does NW's pilot senority and average age look like. Many Delta pilots took early outs so there isn't much in the way of retirements until 2010 and beyond.

Hmm. So this is how it may play out. (purely for discussion)

Delta pulls the trigger for NW. (Cancels the CAL golden share).
CAL and UAL.
SWA goes after AirTran (and all there new 737 orders).
AA picks up Alaska. (they always seem to go after west coast airlines)
Wild cards: JetBlue, Frontier, Spirit. Hmm, they all fly Airbus.
ATA, NAA, and World already in the process of 'combining their synergies'.

Just a WAG (wildassguess), but seems like puzzle pieces are revealing themselves.

Discuss. Let the 'horse beating' commence.
