I am going to Nondalton, alaska next week. And I am in the same boat you are. If there isn't room at the lodge, i guess I will have to camp in the airplane for a week.
As for Nondalton, are you taking the kingair? Nondalton is 2800 ft of gravel and has no services and I doubt that you can find lodging in the village. Iliamna is only about 15-20 miles away and has 4000 ft runways, they are in the process of paving them and one might even be finished by next week. Iliamna has fuel available, and there is lodging available on the airport. (don't recall the name of the lodge) There are other lodging options there too

I don't have any reccomendations as the only time I stayed in Iliamna, I slept in a tent beside Pike Lake, the floatplane lake next to the airport.
Thanks for the information. I am taking a Conquest I in to there. I don't like driving on dirt roads in an airplane like that, especially real short ones. I would much rather go to Illiama, but the boss wants to go into Nondalton. If there isn't room at the lodge, I will probably go back to Ancorage. Anyway, thanks again for the reply.
Havn't been up there in about 8 years but there was a small motel located in town when I was there. Put in a call to Penn Air in ANC(corporate, not resevations), I'm sure they have all the info you could want and would'nt mind sharing. Folks up there in AK are all about helping each other out. Enjoy the trip!
Just go down to the cannery and say you need a room for the night. Nondalton in a Conquest, no way, and I am an old bush fart. Hope you are willing to buy six new blades.
Did it six times and not one ding. That strip is in good shape. Anyway, I saw Caravans and I guess another big twin goes in there (I didn't see it I was fishing).
