Help with kidney stones.

Hi, I have a friend who has another kidney stone after just passing one about a month ago. Last time he had his 1st class medical coming up and had to get cleared from OK city. This time he has to have surgery to remove it. He is understandably worried about what his medical status is and will be from here on out. He received a letter from the FAA after the last time but it is somewhat cryptic and convaluded as to what will happen if there would be another instance such as this. If anyone has any information or past history I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

If he reports it, he's probably done flying. They can sign off 1, but as soon as he shows a "history" they take a different position, especially if he needed hospital attention. I can just about guarantee that the AME won't sign his app. & w/ a second occurrence it will go to OKC. Now with a surgical history will probably be rejected.
