Your first stone is a freebie, although you still must ground yourself until it passes. You are also required to submit evidence that you are stone free prior to returning to flying. Any additional stones after your first requires lots of red tape and followup.
 
The country I am operating out of now gives me an ultra-sound exam every six months, they can catch stones immediately.
