I'm currently a Captain at a regional airline and I'm curious about becoming a controller. These are my general questions: Can I be assured to stay in the Kansas City area? Where is the school and how much does it cost? (is there a school here in KC?) What is the lifestyle like of a controller? Pay, benefits? The most important thing is staying in the KC area and being home. I've read the other posts pertaining to this, but I would like more detail information on these specific questions. Thanks.

are you under 28 at this time? FAA won't hire you under 30.

What he means is that they won't hire you 31 and older. :)

No.

There are only CTI schools that I know of. None in KC

What is the lifestyle like of a controller?

They call it work for a reason.

Pay, benefits?

Good.
