IMHO, Jet Plan has no place in any Part 121 operation.

...as a primary flight planning system, unless it's just the engine behind a GUI (Ops Control, SWIFT, etc).

It's great as a back-up as all you need is an internet connection and you could do that at the local Starbucks if an earthquake sucks your building into a hole.
 
SWIFT is SWA's flight planning system - their in-house designed front-end to the Jeppesen JetPlan engine.

The NWA DUI was the same thing.
 
What is SWIFT?

If I remember correctly it stands for Southwest Integrated Flight Tracking (the "T" may stand for something other than tracking, just can't remember).

JetPlan engine and an in-house GUI that they hope can survive for another few years before they have to get a new system.
