ONLY for crewmembers staying at the Lodge
The Lodge has been designed to have a campus feel, is intended for business/ training travel use only, and is not a leisure property. As a reminder, rooms are designed for single occupancy (queen sized beds) and only registered guests of the Lodge are permitted in the guest towers and guest rooms. In support of JetBlue?s Sustainability program along with our goal of creating additional opportunities for collaboration, interaction and engagement, there are no refrigerators, microwaves or coffee makers in the guest rooms. As such, there are two collaboration spaces located on each guest floor, where there is a full-sized refrigerator. microwave, ice machine and coffee service for the exclusive use of our Crewmembers.
In addition having access to the common areas, all JetBlue Crewmembers, whether or not they are registered guests of the Lodge, are welcome to use the fitness center, pool or any of the other recreational amenities and offerings. To do so, they will need to sign a waiver of liability, which will grant them access to these facilities. All JetBlue Crewmembers and Business Partners are welcome at the Lodge restaurant, bar or the ?On the Fly? food and sundries shop. While family members, friends or visitors will not be permitted to stay overnight at the Lodge, they will be welcome to join registered guests and enjoy the facility in common areas like Humanity Hall, the restaurant or the Tailfin bar. They will be eligible to receive a visitor badge at the reception desk providing they are age 18 and older.

For those of us who've never heard of The Lodge, what is it...where is it ?

Did they build the facility from scratch ?

Did JB buy an old hotel and convert it for company use as lodging for crews in training ?

It sounds elaborate...and expensive.

Sort of like 'The lagoon' in PHL was for US Air?

Dang but does that bring back some memories....

The Lodge is a palace compared to the Lagoon. Even so, the company statement regarding protocols at the Lodge does have a mild dystopian feel to it compared to the Lagoon, which had a mild third world feet it. In a surreal sort of way.

The "collaboration" spaces are straight out of Zappos playbook. If you tour their HQ they create all these spots where employees collide with each other.

Other airlines have tried this idea and failed and only time will determine if this was a waste or insightful investment of $25 million dollars.
I don't like the reality of being trapped there myself.

I think I don't care.

I'm there for training and I'm a big boy who can weed out what I want to absorb and what I don't. On my give a crap meter it's hardly registering. From what I've seen it looks pretty nice though.

But if you're really missing the old spooge stained Doubletree with mold stains around the tub, I'm sure they offer a crew rate.

Hotel rates in and around that area should really drop due to the fact that JB was a large part of their business, especially off season and used up almost 200 rooms a night.

Great, so when your head hurts and you just want to microwave your cold burrito in your boxers and get some rack, you have to get decent and "collaborate" first. Only HR depts think this way.
