Just dropped off a resume at the Simon Property Group hangar at IND. I was kinda surprised they let me through the gate but I'll take what I can get. I gave it to a nice lady right inside, she said she would see that the right people get it and that there were no pilots for me talk to at the moment. Anyone know anything about this operation? I've never been able to find out anything on the web, that's why I walked it to the front door.

Eli Lilly is two hangars down but they wouldn't let me in the gate. The guy on the speaker box told me to email on the Lilly website. Any info here would be appreciated as well.

The letters haven't come out yet but I think the furloughs for my present company are right around the corner, so I'm looking for something else hard now.

Thanks,
Abus300Pilot:(

Simon

I know Simon just hired a G550 pilot. I do not know however if there looking for more. A few friends who knew someone have tired with lilly and never even received a call. Seems tough, mabye not impossible but very tough. I think AirCorp at KIND on the northside of the airport by ACS may be looking but not sure. Not much else around Indy, tough corporate market.

The guys at Simon are a good group. It's been awhile since I chatted with thier CP, but last I did they had two GIV-SPs and were in the process of looking to upgrade (apparently they did)- it's been a few years since I was out there.

Nice equipment flying both the simon brothers around- at least when they had the SPs, each plane had its own personality, with one in tan and teak, the other in black leather and silver trim.

Simon has set schedules (reserve/oncall and days off). IIRC they have about 8 pilots for the two gulfstreams, and a dispatcher/scheduler as well as inhouse MX.

Seems like a good place if you can get in the door. Haven't heard about hiring there, but then again I have kind of fallen out of touch with them. I'd be knocking on the door myself except I'm pretty happy where I am now. I can try to find more info if you want though... I have a relative in upper management at SPG.

Just curious, are you furloughed? A300 CA not working out? I'm not trying to be a smart ass, just curious thats all.

For what it's worth, I have a friend who flies out of IND. He interviewed with Lily about 2 years ago and turned down a job offer due to the "ridiculous low pay" for a G4 seat. Put this way, he was making more flying a C550 than they offered on the G4.

A healthy supply of Knob Creek or Woodford Reserve might help grease the wheels with a certain Simon pilot I know...;)

For what its worth, Louisville seems to have a much stronger corporate market than Indy does. Aircraft Specialists is a charter company out of JVY but they just lost two pilots and its entirely possible you could get hired there as a LR-35 captain with your qualifications. Yum, Humana, and a bunch of smaller companies with a variety of planes (King Airs, Citations, F2000, etc) are in that area.

Hey TC I finally got moved up to IND, if you wanna get a drink with a whippersnapper RJ pilot I'll buy the first round and you can get the next three.:D

Thanks for the info guys. No, the current gig in the Bus isn't too bad, but it is taking a toll on the family. I can be gone up to 32days at a time...it's rare but it happens. Usually it's 16 or so. I don't really have a choice in this case however. I'm not senior enough to withstand the impending furolough. I would like to stay for a few more months to build my PIC Jet but it's not going to work out.

I have an interview in IL in a couple of days but that would mean picking up the family and moving. We aren't opposed to moving but staying in Indy would be much easier. But if you give me a choice between a job and no job, I'll take what's available.

Hummm... That's news to me. #4050 and...? ;)

(Maybe a 650 right after Flight Test is done with it. We seem to be functioning as Gulfstream's OT&E Squadron.) TC

P.S.--Eli Lilly has apparently gone the way of Coke and hired low time FO's who won't be upgrading any time soon and paying crap wages. The CP and CA's get the gravy and the low-timers get a rating and a dream...

And Gulfstream appreciates it...
