Well, I just finished "Fate is the Hunter". Man, Ernie Gann should be required reading to remind us of the innocence of flight.

Here's a few quotes that I particularly enjoyed.

"But the seniority system must ever persist if only because it is a protection of the weak, who are everywhere in the greatest number"

In regards to a dilapidated DC-3 nicknamed "No-Go"......
"Smith said, in his mild way, that while he appreciated its strength of character he would prefer an airplane with a lesser passion for the earth."

Anybody have any other good book-born aviation quotes?
I think we all pretty much know the one-liners.

I just dug it out and threw it in my flight case, required reading next time I get asigned "coffee captain."

Not sure why, but one of my favorite non-humor quotes:

"The one fellow who is really broke in the air is the one who is out of both altitude and airspeed"
-(Wolfgang Langewieche, Stick and Rudder)

my favorite (paraphrased):

"Take heed of thy airspeed, lest the ground riseth up and smite thee"

"Hey buddy......Watch this!"

Well, maybe those are famous last words.

Never let an airplane take you someplace your mind hasn't been to five minutes earlier.

Better to be on the ground wishing that you were flying than flying wishing that you were on the ground!
