I know about 5 years ago there was a way of obtaining your file online through the DOT website and even paying the fee online. I couldn't find the link this past week however. All I could find was the FAA form to fill out and mail in and wait 4-6 weeks. Anybody know if there is still a way to do this all online hopefully speeding up the process? Thanks.

You will need to create a user account, but can then request and receive an email veryifying your certificates and privileges. It's very quick.

It's also the same way you can instantly request replacement certificates, or a temporary certificate extension if your temp happens to be running out. You can change your address online there, or if you still happen to have a certificate with your social security number on it, it's the place to request a new certificate number to cut down on identity theft and enhance security.
